Tuition
. Fees have skyrocketed. They are two and half times what they were 20 years ago, and Ontario students pay more than their peers in other jurisdictions. Not surprisingly, student debt has soared alongside these fee increases.

.Today’s learning environment suffers from overcrowded classes, limited interaction with professors, and deteriorating facilities. Students can’t succeed if they don’t have the educational resources required for a high quality educational experience.

Research and Teaching
. Cuts to research funding deprives Ontario of the innovation our economy desperately needs. At the same time, over-crowded classrooms and strenuous teaching demands make it harder for faculty to meaningfully engage with their students.

University Funding
. Provincial funding of universities is 35 per cent less today per student than it was 40 years ago. OCUFA estimates about $1.1 billion dollars is need by Ontario’s university system to ensure a high quality educational experience for every student.
