Chronic under-funding threatens the quality of education at Ontario universities.
A key indicator of student success is the amount of time students interact with their professors. Ontario has the largest student-to-faculty ratio in Canada at 27-to-1. Compare this to a 15-to-1 ratio at peer universities in the United States. Clearly, our students don’t have the access to faculty they need. To solve this problem, we need more professors, and we need them now.

Quality learning depends on quality resources. Currently, our universities are struggling with aging buildings, deteriorating classroom and labs, and outdated technology. While the Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada have recently invested in university capital, it is important to ensure that our institutions receive sufficient operating funds to maintain and improve their learning infrastructure year-over-year.
